LES TENDANCES INTERNATIONALES
LES TENDANCES INTERNATIONALES

Avant-Garde Reading Its name is ICONOfly. It is the magazine to have in your hotel or bar. Le Café de Flore and Colette in Paris, along with sixteen Sofitel hotels in France have already adopted it. And that’s not all: copies are also to be found in London in the suites of Brown’s Hotel, Dover Street Market, at Harrod’s and the sublime Sketch. Not to mention the inevitable Hotel de Russie in Rome. Why such enthusiasm for this magazine off the beaten path? Because this magazine of art, luxury and history gives carte blanche to the talent of tomorrow: writers, illustrators, designers, musicians, cooks ... Add to this a small size, a nice matte paper, three issues per year and circulation to 240,000 persons. Finally, the originality of ICONOfly, founded by Olivia Bransbourg, is also due to its unique theme to each issue, inspired by a fashion accessory. After the bag, and then watches, Issue 3 deals with glasses.

All About Boots: Past Present & Future/ By Editor Dawn Hung

While most of the Hong-Kongers are focusing on the gigantic free mag Pedderzine, the latest issue of free Parisian magazine ICONOfly has slightly slipped in on Pedderzine, in a rather compact size.(...) The later issue is issued bilingually in French and English, with a totally opposite approach by including the past, present and future of boots, spiced up with an in-depth exploration. The founder and my friend Olivia Bransbourg is an experienced publisher, who started this little booklet in 2006 summer with Delphine de Malherbe. (...) Beside putting an eye on the fashion classics, they have also expanded our vision to Mongolia and Africa. In order to weave the world history of boots, they have also dissected different perspectives and presentation such as literature, photography, cartoons and drawings. The word play recipes Asparagus Boot is my favorite pick. ICONOfly is distrubuted all over the world, including Paris: Colette, Printemps Haussmann department stores, French Sofitel Hotels and Paris Fashion Museum. It is also available in Harrods and Sketch of London.

FEMMES

Is it a magazine? Is it a book? In any case, this object is thought to be jealously preserved. ICONOfly is a magazine born in 2006 under the leadership of Olivia Bransbourg, a passionate of art that wanted to stage an accessory, an object, together with figures of contemporary art. After the bags, watches, glasses and boots, the new edition of ICONOfly explores the bracelet in all its facets. (...) Works to be found (and afforded) at Le Bon Marché in Paris. Until June 18 Iconofly, Diary of a bracelet. Le Bon Marché, Paris 6

3 questions to Art Historian Olivia Bransbourg // "Opening poetic perspectives"  Her magazine ICONOfly dedicates each issue to one fashion accessory. Latest release: the bracelet, Celebrated by David Lynch, Pierre La Police and Andres Serrano. What is the genesis of your magazine? My idea was to combine the art, history and crafts of fashion accessories one per issue. (...) What is your business model? We are not in the traditional press. ICONOfly is printed in 40,000 copies and available in selected locations. In Paris, for example: Café de Flore, at Colette and at Artcurial in some hotels ... Each issue is funded by brands that Become patrons of artists. My role is to ensure fully artists freedom.

INCIDENTALLY
ICONOfly boots its readers
By Olivier Niklaus

ICONOfly, bilingual magazine, which devotes each of its editions to a fashion accessory, has focused its latest issue - after the bag, the watch and glasses - to boots. A fantasy object for excellence, the boot has inspired the artists. The video artist Cecile Paris walk a hypnotic pair in crocodile along a river, Simon English is featuring a man naked in a forest wearing Wellingtons, writer Marie Desplechin signs a dazzling novel in which "boots age better than love." A must-have for all that fetish the boot.

A Journal that We Boot! By Soline Delos // The boot, heroine of a novel by Marie Desplechin, of a video by Cécile Paris or of a recipe from Alain Passard's "boot of Asparagus": this is the idea of ICONOfly, a free magazine, smart and chic. Available, among others, at Colette, the newspaper has given carte blanche to a handful of artists (writers, videographers and even a chef!) To knit together an original work on the boot. A fun idea that has ... booted us.

Finding ICONOfly / (...) Normally speaking, eyewear catalogue / brochure / booklet would be given as a magazine supplement. However, ICONOfly is something beyond, just like happiness, you can simply find this high quality freebie, with eyewear as one-off topic this time, simply picking it up in selected locations. ICONOfly is a free magazine about art and luxuries. (...) For this issue, they have digged out the history of eyewear between 13th century to the 20th century. (...) No wonder the freebie can be found in the Mecca of fashion- Colette in Paris. And now, the free paper is available in various selected hip hotels and concept stores in the UK, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong! Now just wonder if the 4th issue will also be available at On Pedder and what it's topic will be next...

As part of its next issue devoted to bracelets, ICONOfly partners with fine jewelry brand Spallanzani to create an exclusive edition with Colette. This bracelet was designed by Guido Spallanzani, the grand-son of the founder. He wanted a unique gift for his wife to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. He had the idea of a bracelet with a code message and it is with these letters he declared to his beloved: TETCQJ'A: Tu Es Tout Ce Que J'Aime "you're all that I love". Today Spallanzani is reissuing this mythical bracelet with ICONOfly and Colette in white gold and diamonds. Alternatively, one can also write his own secret love message.

(...) As long as you wear a bracelet, you should never worry. An accessory both fetish and mythical, its history and manufacturing are reviewed by the elitist ICONOfly magazine, founded in 2006 by Olivia Bransbourg. The fifth issue focuses on the vicissitudes of the bracelet in the light of photographs of the bracelets from the Musée du Quai Branly, used in conjunction with creations of contemporary artists like Jeanne Susplugas, Pierre La Police ... (...)  The bracelet becomes also a fragrance with ATTACHE-MOI, a scent conceived by Christine Nagel and Benoist Lapouza for ICONOfly, and Serge Mansau has made the bottle designed to look like a bracelet, covered with sheets of gold. Advice to fashionistas: the cost of the bracelet (2 in 1) is 1200 euros. The purist fond of the history of fashion can get the magazine at Colette, at the Café de Flore, or at Christie’s.
